Simon Munir and Isaac Souede add to the Flat string

Tattersalls September Sale

Lot 279: another by Inns Of Court catches the buyers’ eyes, this time it is a filly by the young Tally-Ho Stud-based stallion.

The March-born filly, bred by Mr Robert Norton out of Ziggy’s Secret (Sakhee’s Secret), was offered by Tally-Ho, who spent €30,000 on her as a foal and sold her today for €100,000. She was bought by Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock, with underbidders including Eddie Linehan and Archie Watson.

“She has been bought for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede,” said Anthony Bromley. “We bought three yesterday and we also tried on the top lot colt.

“I have been very taken by the stock by Inns Of Court and she was definitely more than the budget I had proposed, but she was a three-star horse all week and stood out. We weren’t necessarily looking for a filly at the sale but she was my pick. Simon was on the phone and we had to go that little bit more than expected, but hopefully she is a nice filly. She goes to Joseph O’Brien.”

Of the Munir and Souede Flat string, Bromley continued: “They have a nice three-year-old filly who is called Seisai, she is a Listed horse and Group 2-placed and is with O’Brien. We were beaten two inches in the Weatherbys £300,000 sales race with Alpha Capture, who is trained by William Haggas.

“There is a few on the Flat, and we have got a few yearlings this summer, and we will see how it goes. It is only very small at the moment, but we are looking to get a few more.”

Ziggy’s Secret was a winner at two and four and has produced three winners from three runners – all are winning juveniles with the latest success story Iato’s Angel (Footstepsinthesand) coming after the catalogue was printed.

Two lots earlier Lot 277, also by Inns Of Court and sold by Tally-Ho, made €65,000 and was bought by Nick Bell. (11:45)
