TRAINER Ben Pauling said: “I have to thank Highflyer Bloodstock’s Tess Greatrex, he was very well bought at the Newmarket Horses In Training Sale, we loved him at the sales and we managed to buy him and Emma, who owns Le Brueil, I told him he was a nice horse! Hopefully, he has shown that today, his work at home has been very good, he is quite an exuberant character so we dropped him in today and ride him quietly and thought he’d come through at the end.

“He did an awful lot wrong there , he did not jump well early doors, was looking around a bit, made a hash of the last when he got to the front. He has a huge amount of learning to do, but it was a good start and a good point to kick off from.

“He will be quite busy, we will look for something in the spring, whether he has got enough time to get a Boodles mark.”
